Cancel Photomyne Subscription: iPhone, Android, Web (2026)
You cancel a Photomyne subscription where you bought it: in your Apple account, in Google Play, or on the Photomyne website, not inside the Photomyne app. On an iPhone the path is Settings, your name, Subscriptions, and it takes about a minute. If you are still in the 3-day trial, Apple's help page says to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Photomyne's own help page states that your scanned photos stay on the phone after cancelling, but are no longer backed up (photomyne.com, checked October 2026).
Where is your Photomyne subscription managed?
Photomyne's help article on cancelling says that a cancellation has to go through the billing provider you originally paid. There are three possibilities. Which one applies to you depends on where you tapped "subscribe".
| How you subscribed | Where you cancel | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| In the app on an iPhone or iPad | Apple: Settings app or App Store app | Your Apple Account password or Face ID |
| In the app on an Android phone | Google Play app or play.google.com | The Google account you used for the purchase |
| On photomyne.com | portal.photomyne.com, section "Plan / Billing" | The email address you signed up with |

Cancel Photomyne on an iPhone or iPad
These are the steps from Apple's support page "Cancel a subscription from Apple" (support.apple.com/118428, checked October 2026). The subscription is listed under the app name "Photo Scan App by Photomyne".
- Open the Settings app and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the entry for Photo Scan App by Photomyne.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You may have to scroll down to see the button.
- Confirm the cancellation when asked.
If there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiration date in red text, the subscription is already cancelled. Photomyne's help page describes an alternative route with the same result: open the App Store app, tap your profile picture in the top right corner, then tap Subscriptions.
Cancel Photomyne on an Android phone
The menu names below are the ones Google uses in its Play Help pages (support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481 and the Google Pay page on recurring payments, both checked October 2026).
- Open the Google Play app and make sure you are signed in with the account you paid with.
- Tap your profile picture in the top right corner.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select the Photomyne subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions on screen.
The same list is available in a browser at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Google's help page notes that uninstalling an app does not cancel its subscription. The subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then it ends without a further charge.
Cancel a subscription bought on the Photomyne website
If you subscribed on photomyne.com rather than through an app store, the cancellation runs through Photomyne's own portal. The steps come from the same Photomyne help article.
- Go to portal.photomyne.com and choose the Photomyne app.
- Enter your email address and type in the login code that is sent to you. Signing in with Apple, Google or a phone number is also offered.
- Click your profile icon or open Account.
- Open Plan / Billing.
- Choose the option to cancel your plan.
What happens to your scans after you cancel?
Photomyne's help page is clear on this point, so there is no need to guess. After the membership ends, the account returns to the basic version. The photos you scanned remain on the device you scanned them with. They are no longer backed up and no longer available on other devices.
The same page adds a warning worth taking seriously: if you delete the app without a membership, you may not be able to recover your photos later. The app itself is then the only copy. One more line from the help page: "Deleting the app does NOT cancel your subscription." Cancelling and deleting are two separate actions, and the order matters: cancel first, save your photos, then decide whether to delete.
Save your photos before the membership ends
According to Photomyne's article "Is Photomyne Free?" (published August 9, 2026), unlimited saving and sharing, access on other devices, access on the Photomyne website and cloud backup are membership features. That means the comfortable moment to get your photos out is while the membership is still active, since access continues until the end of the paid period anyway.
A short checklist before the end date:
- Save the albums you want to keep to your phone's photo library or to the cloud service you use.
- Check that the saved files open outside Photomyne, for example in your phone's Photos app.
- Copy them to a second place, such as a computer or an external drive.
- Only then cancel, or if you have already cancelled, do this before the paid period runs out.
Where exactly the saving options sit in the current app version is best checked in Photomyne's help pages, since menus change with updates.
Cancelling a free trial in time
Photomyne's website shows a yearly plan of 59.99 USD after a 3-day trial (website footer, photomyne.com, checked October 2026; prices as of October 2026). Apple's support page says that if you do not want a trial to turn into a paid subscription, you should cancel it "at least 24 hours before the trial ends". So for a 3-day trial, the safe moment to cancel is on day two. Cancelling earlier does not cut your trial short with Apple: access runs until the trial's end date.
Google's help page does not state a 24-hour rule, but the cancellation steps are the same as above, and the trial also runs to its end date after cancelling. If you want to know what the different Photomyne plans cost before you decide, the overview of Photomyne's prices and plans lists what the stores show.
If you would rather scan without a subscription
Some people cancel because they only wanted to scan one or two albums and do not need a yearly plan afterwards. For that case there are apps that work without a subscription, listed in the overview of alternatives to Photomyne. One of them is Albumbox, available for iPhone and Android. Scanning, viewing, labeling and sharing an album as a link cost nothing; several photos at once and exports need Plus, which costs 39.99 USD per year or 79.99 USD once for three years (as of October 2026, see the Albumbox pricing page). Scans stay visible after Plus ends, and nothing is removed or watermarked.
That is one option among several. Pic Scanner Gold, for example, is a one-time purchase of 9.99 USD for iOS (App Store, checked October 2026). If you keep Photomyne, the steps above are all you need.
Frequently asked questions
Can you cancel a Photomyne subscription at any time?
Yes. Apple and Google let you cancel at any time, and the subscription then runs until the end of the period you have paid for. A refund for the remaining time is not part of the cancellation itself; refund requests go to Apple or Google, not to Photomyne, when you paid through a store.
Does deleting the Photomyne app cancel the subscription?
No. Both Photomyne's help page and Google's Play Help say that deleting or uninstalling the app leaves the subscription active. You have to cancel it in your Apple account, in Google Play or on the Photomyne portal.
Will I lose my photos when I cancel Photomyne?
According to Photomyne's help page, the photos stay on the device you scanned with, but backup and access from other devices stop. If you delete the app without a membership, Photomyne says you may not be able to recover them. Save them to your phone's photo library or a computer before the membership ends.
How do I know whether the cancellation worked?
On an iPhone, open Settings, your name, Subscriptions: a cancelled subscription shows an expiration date instead of a renewal date. On Android, the subscription moves to the expired section of the Subscriptions list in Google Play. Apple and Google also send a confirmation email.
If your decision is made, open the Subscriptions screen on your phone now and go through the five steps above; the whole process takes a minute.
